Gannett Co., Inc. Installs MatrixPlus Software in Select TV Stations
PITTSBURGH, PA (July 24, 2002) – Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:
GCI) has recently installed MatrixPlus software in four additional
television stations including WTSP-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL),
WKYC-TV (Cleveland, OH), WZZM-TV (Grand Rapids, MI) and WUSA-TV
(Washington, D.C.). A product of Pittsburgh-based Matrix Solutions,
MatrixPlus assists Broadcast Sales organizations to develop structured
sales strategies and increase sales. Currently, nearly one quarter
of Gannett television stations use MatrixPlus software.
Designed by Broadcast Sales Industry experts, MatrixPlus allows
stations to download historical and future billing information directly
from their traffic system into a nine-cell matrix. Each cell has
a numerical value (1-9), allowing stations to organize and view
prospects and customers by dollar contribution and growth potential.
This unique concept gives stations the ability to clearly focus
in on targeted areas, therefore improving sales effort effectiveness,
saving time and increasing revenue.
According to Chuck DeVendra, General Sales Manager for WTSP-TV
(Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL), "MatrixPlus has become one of the
most important resources in our sales effort. From account management
to category reports and revenue projections, MatrixPlus is a one-stop
source for accurate and timely information. The software has ‘supercharged’
our traffic system and made us better managers.”
Gannett Co., Inc. is an international news and information company
