Matrix Solutions Overview

Network Administrator

Matrix Solutions, the market leader in providing sales management solutions for the media industry, is looking for a Network Administrator to join our team. As a Network Administrator you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of Matrix Solutions’ network and technical infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting servers, desktops, printers, client server applications, network security, T1/broadband connections, VPN circuits and related systems.

This position reports to the Director of Customer Service.

What you will be doing:

  • Installing, configuring and maintaining personal computers, workstations, printers, file servers, networks, network cabling, and other related equipment
  • Administering network workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols
  • Performing on-going configuration and maintenance of our internal CRM system, Exchange email system, digital phone system and other related systems
  • Evaluating and/or recommending purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software
  • Maintaining site licenses for our entire organization; including performing inventory management of our software licenses, hardware and corresponding warranties
  • Planning and implementing network security, including configuring and maintaining firewalls, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity and managing users
  • Performing corporate system back-ups
  • Proactively implementing maintenance programs and preventive measures to mitigate potential internal system problems
  • Performing new hire system administration; including the creation of new accounts, set up of computers and updating of phone list and email systems
  • Providing computer orientation to new staff
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

You should have:

  • A degree in a technical discipline (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrated skills necessary to support end users; including but not limited to basic software and hardware trouble shooting abilities
  • Strong proficiency with the following applications: Microsoft products including Windows 2000, 2003 and 2007 Server, all versions of Windows client, Terminal Services, Citrix, SharePoint Services, 2000 Professional and WinXP and SPAM/Spyware controls
  • Experience in the following server related skills: DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, TCI/IP, sub-netting, router configuration, SUS server, web hosting, FTP protocols/applications, scripting, and RAID controllers
  • A good team player attitude, highly motivated and enjoying challenges
  • Good judgment, time management, problem and decision-making skills
  • The ability to work well and collaborate across the organization

You should also:

  • Be an effective team and individual worker

  • Be willing to work after hours and weekends, when appropriate, to resolve disruptions in any infrastructure services
  • Have the ability to oversee or modify a schedule of tasks with minimum supervision
