Gary Diven - Founder & Managing
Partner
Gary
Diven is principal owner and investor in Matrix Solutions. He is
a former media executive who founded Matrix Solutions in 1992 to
introduce the company’s first software product, MatrixPlus.
His time with Matrix Solutions is preceded by executive level positions
in the areas of marketing and research in the broadcasting industry,
and in retail marketing and management.
During his tenure as head of strategic planning
and research with Group W Broadcasting, KDKA-TV, Gary developed
a sales management tool that would accept customer billing data
from traffic systems and, in combination with input of qualitative
data, would enable media sellers to be proactive in their approach
and able to build better sales strategies. The result was an innovative
system that equipped salespeople and managers with insightful reports,
robust account information, forecasting capabilities, and account
management capabilities for a focused sales approach. An early version
of the product was successfully rolled out at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh,
then later to all of the Group W Broadcasting stations and national
rep offices. Gary left Group W Broadcasting to develop and
market MatrixPlus for the media sales industry.
Prior to his executive role at KDKA-TV,
Gary was a national retail marketing manager for Sears Roebuck
and Company.
