Matrix Solutions, the market leader

is looking for a Business Intelligence Applications Developer
to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Application Developer
you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting
our software both as a member of a team and individually. You'll
also get a chance to participate in other activities such as creating
technical specifications, writing technical documentation, and
testing. You will be given the opportunity to provide significant
leadership and mentoring in the areas of Business Intelligence
application development and database development to the rest of
the team. Significant experience developing and delivering enterprise
scale applications is strongly desired.
What you will be doing:
- Contributing to the design and implementation
of new products as well as maintaining and enhancing existing
products
- Participating in the specification of new
and enhanced features
- Collaborating with customers, product owners,
developers, and testers to create software designs that help
solve real business problems and meet business objectives
- Designing and developing software components
according to specifications
- Creating, optimizing, and maintaining OLAP
cubes and business intelligence reports
- Employing database development knowledge
to address performance, scalability and efficiency issues with
large data warehouse databases
- Contributing to the technical design of databases
including schema and stored procedures
- Identifying, recommending, and leading the
implementation of best practices surrounding database development
and administration
- Mentoring the other team members regarding
database development best practices
- Creating software that expands upon our existing
solution architecture for our products
- Supporting and troubleshooting problems with
code in both test and production environments
- Estimating effort level for assigned components
- Assisting with software testing and documentation
as needed
- Helping build a culture of learning and continuous
improvement on the team
You should have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science
or related degree
- 3 years of experience with SQL development
- 3 years of experience in Data Warehouse development
and engineering
- 2 years of experience with OLAP including
design and deployment of complex cubes and writing MDX queries
- Experience using the SQL Server Business
Intelligence Toolset (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS)
- Experience developing on the .NET platform,
preferably with C#
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server administration
and internals, including database tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of database development best practices
including but not limited to migrations, database refactoring
techniques, and object-relational mapping layers
- A good grasp of common algorithms and data
structures
- Hands-on knowledge of source control and
build tools
Additional desirable skills:
- Experience in a commercial
software environment delivering proven solutions to a large
customer base
- Experience as a developer in other database,
data warehouse technologies is a definite plus - MySQL, Oracle,
Microstrategy, Business Objects, TeraData
- MCPD/MCITP certification
- Experience with the Enterprise Library
- Experience with agile and test-driven development
methodologies
- Full life-cycle development experience
- Familiarity with design patterns and their
application
- Web design and/or user interface experience
a plus
- Knowledge of common network protocols such
as HTTP, FTP, and SMTP
You should also:

methodologies
